While it may appear as a small Texas community, Westlake is actually so much more. With a prosperous base of residents and a treasured quality of life, it is home to well-known banking and others business executives, former Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers players and a variety of community conscious citizens.

Fidelity Investments operates a massive regional campus in Westlake, while accounting and professional services champion, Deloitte, also has a large scale corporate training center (known as Deloitte University) in the region.

Westlake is accessible for the business traveler, another plus for residents. D/FW International is nearby, as is Alliance Airport in Fort Worth

Only a half-century old, Westlake is widely known for its world-class commercial developments and master-planned residential neighborhoods. It also features some of the region’s most desired golf course communities.

The history is brief by many cities’ standards. In 1956, Dallas attorney Glenn Turner bought 2,000 acres along Texas State Highway 114 and created the Circle T Ranch.

Soon after that, ranches and homeowners in the surrounding community incorporated as Westlake (the northern section later became the community of Trophy Club).

Today, the city is an oasis of natural beauty that balances open spaces with sophisticated housing developments, trails and good schools.

Public schools in three independent school districts serve the area’s needs, including Northwest, Keller and Carroll. Residents may also enroll their children in Westlake Academy (K-12), an area charter school, along with a variety of other educational options.

Shoppers enjoy the local opportunities and those in neighboring cities including Fort Worth, Keller, Roanoke and Southlake.

Community connections is an important part of the rich fabric of Westlake. The town’s Masterworks Music Series is an annual hit.

Plus, there is a community holiday tree lighting, Arbor Day environmental celebration, tagged as Tree City USA by the U.S. Arbor Day Foundation, and a special Decoration Day event that coincides with the city’s observance of Memorial Day.

Major neighborhoods include: Aspen Lane, which features lots that are at least five acres; Carlyle Court, an eight-lot residential development with each lot being one to 1.5-acres; Entrada, an 85-acre mixed-use development with homes and villas having a Catalonia-themed village; Glenwyck Farms, a private community on more than 100 wooded acres with one-acre homesites; Granada, an 84 single-family luxury home community; Mahotea Boone, the oldest subdivision with 14 lots; Paigebrooke Farms, a five-lot subdivision with multiple ponds; Quail Hollow, the newest residential development covers 188 acres with plans for 92 estate homes on one- and two-acre lots; Stagecoach Hills, a 30-house airport subdivision; Terra Bella, a 28-lot gated community on 54 acres; Vaquero, a 333-home, gated and guarded community that surrounds a Tom Fazio-designed golf course; and, Wyck Hill (formerly the Estates of Westlake), a subdivision with 12 homes all on one-acre lots.
