With an exemplary school system in a community that is wild about sports and recreation, Southlake is special. It is among the most prosperous areas in the Dallas-Fort region, chock full of beautiful custom homes and luxurious estates.

Even though it’s in the DFW area, Southlake has developed its own specific identity. Over the years it has been singled out as one of the wealthiest ZIP codes in the United States.

Amenities abound in the 22.5-square miles that make up Southlake. It meets the highest standards, with multiple city and community parks boasting well-equipped playgrounds, baseball fields, tennis courts, walking trails, pavilions for picnics and small ponds for fishing.

Citizens enthusiastically support the Keep Southlake Beautiful initiative with volunteers dedicated to making the city an environmentally-friendly place to live, play and work. There is also an abundance of golf available in the region, including a Dallas Cowboys themed course.

From a business perspective, many of the region’s best known executives live in the area, which is home to Sabre Holdings. It is also a popular place to live for retired professional athletes such as DeMarcus Ware (Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos), Kenny Hill (Texas Rangers) and more.

The local restaurants improve every year, serving everything from Tex-Mex to Thai-Vietnamese fusion. Annual events such as Oktoberfest, a grand tree lighting at Home For The Holidays and more keep families active.

Southlake Town Square, built around the Town Hall, is the city's core. The downtown area features a variety of retail and boutique stores, popular restaurants, Southlake Municipal Court, Department of Public Safety headquarters, single-family residences, a movie theater and a full-service luxury hotel. The development also plays host to the city's library where there is various multimedia designed for all ages.

As one of the highest-rated education systems in Texas, Southlake schools afford many area children a strong academic foundation. Unlike other districts in the state, all schools in Carroll ISD use the same “Dragon” logo and mascot.

Small portions of the city are zoned for Northwest, Keller and Grapevine-Colleyville districts schools.
