Vibrant and alive. When you think about neighborhoods with a unique style and eclectic personality, Oak Lawn is always on the list.

The area has seen significant redevelopment over the last decade, creating an assorted mixture of architectural styles and a distinctive variety of homes, condominiums and high-rise apartments throughout the 12-square miles that make up Oak Lawn.

Whether it's a luxurious apartment in the sky, a contemporary townhouse, elegant condominium or a refurbished single-family home, residents are drawn to the diversity available in the region.

Few structures from this original community remain, replaced by high-rises, boutique hotels and modern living spaces.

The area has easy access to some of Dallas’s premier shopping, dining and entertainment destinations from anywhere in Oak Lawn.

Restaurants include kitschy Lucky’s Café, the relaxed Parigi, Green Papaya and delicious Italian fare at Mille Lire, which is located in The Centrum. Asian-fusion experts, Steel, presents cuisine that is as colorful as it is tasty, while Eddie V’s and stalwart Al Biernat’s are among the city’s best restaurants.

Oak Lawn is served in part by the free M-Line Trolley as well as Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s (DART) Blue and Red light-rail lines, making transportation in and out of the area easy for commuters.

Families with school-aged children will appreciate the multiple elementary, middle and high schools that are part of the Dallas Independent School District as well as a selection of respected private schools, which are a short distance away, including Ursuline Academy of Dallas, The Hockaday School, Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas, St. Mark’s School of Texas and more.

The neighborhood features sprawling green spaces including Oak Lawn Park, one of the city's oldest, and Reverchon Park, perfect for strollers and four-legged friends. Each is unique with playgrounds, tennis courts and soccer and/or football fields designed to unite families and friends.

The popular Katy Trail is nearby with 3.5 miles of beautiful urban hiking and biking trails, while the city’s largest urban green space, Klyde Warren Park, is close to Downtown Dallas near the city’s thriving Arts District.

Entertainment is active in Victory Park, which is nearby and includes House of Blues, Mark Cuban’s intimate new music venue called The Hi-Fi Dallas and the American Airlines Center (AAC) for the larger concerts.

The AAC is also home to the Dallas Stars and Dallas Mavericks, and tons of activity in and around the plaza in front of the arena.

For travelers, both D/FW International Airport and Dallas Love Field are located just a short distance away, convenient and easily accessible.

Oak Lawn is adjacent to the Dallas Design District , giving the area an artsy feel exuding sophistication and style. Turtle Creek Boulevard, Central Expressway, Inwood Road, Harry Hines Boulevard and Highland Park border this beautiful section of town. Popular neighborhoods around the area include Turtle Creek and Uptown.
