The heart of Dallas beats brightly in Highland Park, one of the most storied communities in Texas. Known for an abundance of lovely green spaces, as well as a slightly higher elevation, HP, as locals often refer to it, is a 2.26-square mile region of the Park Cities.

It’s a friendly, community-conscious neighborhood that offers a celebrated lifestyle, wrapped in the convenience of being less than a 15-minute drive from Downtown Dallas’s bustling business district and close to Dallas Love Field as well as D/FW International Airport.

Enchanting tree-lined streets and well-manicured lawns warmly welcome residents and visitors to the sprawling landscape. Homes range from quaint Austin stone cottages, owned by early inhabitants of Highland Park, to magnificent contemporary estates.

Turtle Creek represents a small section of the Trinity River, which flows through a portion of Highland Park, offering ideal locations for outdoor exercise and family picnics. The nearby Katy Trail represents 3.5 miles of a jogging, walking, inline skating and bicycling path that runs through the area.

Approximately twenty percent of Highland Park is dedicated to outdoor space, providing plenty of areas for children and family pets to run and play.

It is home to the magnificent Dallas Country Club, the oldest such establishment in Texas. Residents also appreciate eight tennis courts and a town swimming pool, which is a seasonal highlight for members.

While there are various shopping options nearby at NorthPark Center (Gucci, Carolina Herrera), The Crescent (Stanley Korshak), and Uptown (Brooks Brothers, Mizzen + Main), Highland Park Village is the premier choice, offering high-end boutiques from a list of impressive local and international retailers, including Tory Burch, Chanel, Dior, Fendi, Hermès, Jimmy Choo, Lela Rose and Harry Winston.

The restaurant scene in the neighborhood is delicious with dining options that include favorites such as Café Pacific, Bistro 31, Mi Cocina and The Honor Bar.

Education is a central focus in Highland Park. Children have the opportunity to attend schools in the prestigious Highland Park Independent School District .

The district is served by five elementary schools (Armstrong, Boone, Bradfield, Hyer and University Park), a pair of middle schools (Highland Park Middle School, McCulloch Intermediate School) and Highland Park High School in neighboring University Park.

Notable HPHS grads include actress Angie Harmon, Cy Young Award-winning baseball pitcher Clayton Kershaw and NFL Quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Southern Methodist University is also nearby, a grand center point in the Park Cities, with a national ranking among colleges in the Southwest and around the nation

Highland Park and University Park make up the Park Cities. Located between the Dallas North Tollway and U.S. 75, known as the North Central Expressway, Highland Park has about 9,000 residents. Addresses in the area can be designated as either Dallas, Texas, or Highland Park, Texas.
