Bob works in partnership with his wife, Debbie Giles Spies.
Bob is a graduate of the Engineering School at The University of Texas - Austin and a MBA graduate from SMU.
After eight years at Texas Instrument he entered the homebuilding industry where his company built and sold over 6,000 homes in the metroplex and surrounding areas during the next 35 years.
Bob was honored by his peers by being chosen as the Builder of the Year (1978) by the Builders Association of Fort Worth and Tarrant County and recipient of the Hugh Prather Award (1982) by the Dallas Homebuilders’. He is the only builder to be honored by both associations.
He was elected as a Life Director of the Dallas Homebuilders, Fort Worth Homebuilders, Texas Association of Homebuilders and the National Association of Homebuilders.
Bob has served as chairman of many committees; two of which being with the Dallas Realtors and Homebuilders Liaison Committee on how to work more effectively together and the National Homebuilders, Home Owners Warranty Corporation, where he served as Chairman of the Board.
Bob served on the board of the Swiss Avenue Bank until it was purchased by the Bank of Texas and the boards of two Savings and Loans at request of the government.
Bob presently serves as Chairman of the ZOAC (Zoning Ordinance Advisory Board) in University Park. Bob is a lifelong member of Christ the King Church where he has been actively involved, including the local chapter of St. Vincent de Paul Society, where he was honored by the Dallas Morning News (Dec. 24, 2004) with a front page article detailing his involvement.
After retiring in 2000, many of his custom builder friends asked him to assist them in buying lots for their home building operations. Since mid-2008 several builders and Allie Beth Allman have asked Bob to take an active part in working on solutions for the builders and lenders in the Dallas area.
Bob is a lifelong resident of University Park. He has dealt with clients from the Park Cities to Bluffview, Preston Hollow, M streets, Lakewood and Oak Cliff.
His whole life has been dedicated to “Solving Problems and Service to Others.”
